THE DSCHANG COUNCIL LAUNCHES ROAD MAINTENANCE WORK IN THE “REGIE” DISTRICT
On Tuesday 27 February 2024, the Dschang Council began road maintenance work in the Régie district, one of the most densely populated areas and one of the worst affected by the damage caused by bad weather.
The work involves filling in the large gullies created by the torrential rains, levelling and stabilising the pavements, rehabilitating the drainage works and landscaping the verges. The aim is to improve traffic conditions and user safety, as well as enhancing the quality of life for local residents.
The mayor of the Dschang Council, Jacquis Gabriel Kemleu Tchabgou, expressed on his Facebook page his satisfaction and his determination to make road maintenance a priority, as he has done in the past to tackle flooding problems through the vast operation to clean up the water bed. He praised the remarkable work of the technical services, in particular the machine operators, who work with dexterity and in collaboration with the local people. He also thanked the residents of the Régie district for their understanding and patience in the face of the inconvenience caused by the work. He assured them that the end result would live up to their expectations.
The Lord Mayor invited citizens to remain mobilised and support the project, which is part of local development and shared ambitions. He also invited them to stay tuned to his Facebook page to follow the progress of the work and the other actions of the Dschang Council.
“Together we will succeed”, he concluded.
