On July 15, 2024, the Dschang Council enthusiastically celebrated the solemn launch ceremony of the vacation internship for trainee pupils and students. The Party Hall in the annex building was packed, bringing together the young beneficiaries, municipal officials and members of the community.
Lord Mayor Jacquis Gabriel KEMLEU, standard-bearer of the mandate of challenges, presided over the event, accompanied by his deputies and the Council’s Secretary General. In a warm atmosphere, the Lord Mayor took the opportunity to introduce the city to the trainees and underline the importance of the internship.
The aim of the internship is to introduce the young people to the essential concerns of communal life, in particular urban sanitation, territorial organization and the collection of communal taxes. The trainees will also have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge of the competencies devolved to municipalities, and to contribute to the development of the Dschang Council by taking part in public utility work linked to sanitation and hygiene.
At the end of the internship, the young people will receive bonuses and school kits to help them prepare for the start of the 2024/2025 school year. This initiative testifies to the Council’s commitment to young people and its desire to train responsible, active citizens.
The ceremony ended in a spirit of conviviality and optimism, auguring a fruitful summer for Dschang’s trainees.
