Under the theme “For a conscious practice of NANBUDO”, the Cameroon NANBUDO Federation is organizing an international training course and the opening of the 2025 sports season. This major event will be held in Bafoussam on December 18 and 19, 2024, and in Dschang on December 20 and 21, 2024.
As a prelude to this event, Professor Justine DIFFO, President of the Cameroonian NANBUDO Federation since February 2023, Black Belt 3rd DAN, and Secretary General of the African NANBUDO Confederation since June 2024, as well as President of the Board of Directors of the
Telecommunications Regulatory Agency, was received in audience on Monday November 11, 2024 by the Lord Mayor of the Dschang Council, Mr. Jacquis Gabriel KEMLEU TCHABGOU. Accompanied by a strong delegation, discussions focused on the holding of this important sporting event in Dschang.
Lord Mayor KEMLEU warmly welcomed the initiative, underlining that it was part of the promotion of sport, a sector of great importance for the “Mandate of challenges” of which he is the standard-bearer.
He expressed his agreement to sponsor this event, stating with conviction that sport is a fundamental element of social emulation.
The program for this event includes the perfecting of techniques, grade examinations, the Renewal Tournament, the Awards for the best leagues, and as a bonus, the NANBUDO Christmas. The organizers have chosen Bafoussam and Dschang to host this major event, with the aim of popularizing Nanbudo in Cameroon. This selection will not only help to promote these towns as tourist destinations, by introducing participants to numerous sites in the Western region, but will also enhance the capacity of local committee members to organize such events.
The event will also facilitate the establishment of a Nanbudo club at the University of Dschang, in preparation for the 2026 Nanbudo World Championships to be held in Cameroon. The Cameroonian Nanbudo Federation is committed to promoting the discipline throughout the country.
This international training course and the opening of the 2025 sports season promise to be high points for Nanbudo practitioners and an exceptional showcase for Cameroon in the field of martial arts.
