In a heartfelt bid for social inclusiveness, the town of Dschang witnessed a remarkable act of charity on Friday 14 June 2024, when Dr Phd Sylvie KEMLEU, President of the Smile for All Youths association, generously offered donations to the most vulnerable members of the community, including orphans, the disabled, albinos and the seriously ill.
The event, which took place in a convivial setting at the Municipal Lake, not only highlighted Dr KEMLEU’s inclusiveness and altruism, but also benefited from the presence of eminent personalities such as the Lord Mayor of the Dschang Council, Mr Jacquis Gabriel KEMLEU, Dr KEMLEU’s devoted husband, as well as municipal councillors and other distinguished guests.
This commendable initiative is an integral part of Dschang’s social store project, which was officially inaugurated on 8 March 2024 in the presence of His Excellency the Belgian Ambassador to Cameroon. With a commitment to provide quarterly donations to those in need, the project aims to weave a social safety net for the most disadvantaged.
The ceremony was marked by strong emotions, reflecting the compassion and solidarity of the community. The Lord Mayor, Mr Jacquis Gabriel Kemleu, expressed his unwavering support for this cause, promising to continue supporting these charitable initiatives, which are perfectly in line with the policy of inclusiveness promoted by the municipality.
This event marks an important milestone in the history of Dschang, demonstrating that generosity and mutual aid are fundamental values that continue to flourish in this dynamic city.
