The Commission for the Examination of Building Permits of the Dschang Council recently held a session to evaluate building permit applications on Monday January 13, 2025, in the Technical Services meeting room in the annex building of the Dschang Council. The meeting was attended by representatives of the deconcentrated services of the State ; in this case the Divisional Delegate of MINHDU Menoua, the Divisional Delegate of MINTP Menoua, the Divisional Delegate of MINDCAF Menoua, the Divisional Delegate of MINEPDED Menoua, the urban planning and housing departments of DD/MINHDU Menoua, the professional orders of engineers in Cameroon, the national fire fighting brigade department, the D.O. of the Dschang district (represented), the municipal councillor in charge of urban planning, and the architect.

During the session, the commission examined 18 building permit applications. Of these 18 files, 14 were deemed favorable, corresponding to an approval rate of 77.77%, while 4 files were deemed unfavorable. Applicants whose files were rejected have the opportunity to reformulate their requests, taking into account the observations and recommendations made by the commission.

The process of obtaining a building permit is crucial to the safety, quality and urban harmonization of the Dschang Council. Every construction project must comply with current standards and regulations to guarantee the safety of structures and users, and to preserve the harmony of the built environment.

It is important to remember that at the previous meeting, held on December 18, 2024, the commission had examined 26 files, of which 19 were approved, representing an approval rate of 73.07%. Applicants whose files had been deemed unfavorable were invited to reformulate their requests in line with the commission’s recommendations.
